Incomindios Switzerland

The International Committee for the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas is an organization with the declared goal of supporting Indigenous Peoples of North, Central and South America in their struggle for political, economic and cultural sovereignty.

In the beginning of the seventies, Indigenous Peoples from North and South America made their way to Geneva to address the international community at the UN. At the same time, they looked to form an alliance of support in Europe. Thus, in September 1974, INCOMINDIOS was formed as a support organization with the intention of founding such committees in other European countries. Today, more than twenty years later, there are many organizations - under different names - working to support Indigenous Peoples. INCOMINDIOS Switzerland has established a wide network with Swiss based and other European human rights' organizations. Incomindios only acts on previous consultation with our Indigenous partners.
