Incomindios Switzerland

The International Committee for the Indigenous PeopleS of the Americas is an organization with the declared goal of assisting the native peoples of North, Central and South America morally and materially in their struggle for political, economic and cultural sovereignty.
The the beginning of the seventies, native people from North and South America made their way to Geneva to address the international community at the UN with their demands. And at the same time, they looked for good-willed people wishing to form an alliance of support in Europe. Thus, in September 1974, INCOMINDIOS was formed as a support organization with the intention of founding such committees in other European countries. Today, more than twenty years later, there are many organizations - under different names - working in support of native peoples. INCOMINDIOS Switzerland has established a wide network with Swiss based and foreign European human rights' organizations. From the start we considered ourselves as being a mouthpiece for the cause of native peoples and act on their behalf only upon previous consultation with our indigenous partners.
